Yes, I wanted to pay to watch the film but the website would only take one dollar. I would have given more. How do I do that?
I also wanted / wished to see incorporated into this film the Standing Rock moment I took away as most powerful: the evening when the Veterans held ceremony in the Prairie Knight's casino, and the son of General Clark (or was it grandson?) asked forgiveness of the Lakota elder / chief. This moment brought me (a 79-year old White woman) to tears. I am a caucasian whose ancestors farmed the Lakota lands and made our stand as immigrants to this country on earth illegally, unethically and immorally seized from these first peoples. This forgiveness moment, for me, trumped all else. Activism in one thing (and yes, I also went to Standing Rock and spent a few days there experiencing some white bewilderment and guilt) but without forgiveness (asking and giving) we are still in hell.
